IMPACT OF COVID 19 ON CANADIAN IMMIGRATION
Canada , along with the world is also facing the uncertainty period due to this Pandemic COVID - 19 or Coronavirus that has left many things unsure such as Visa Applicants, Canadian PRs and Citizenships, etc. The Country's Immigration policies had been gone through many changes since the pandemic started. The government of canada is taking all possible steps to fight against COVID-19 ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
In taking into consideration these outbreak times, Canadian Government has imposed few travelling restrictions for all Immigrants and foreign nationals from Mar 2020 advising the citizens to avoid non-essential travels. Here are a few Special measures it carried out for Immigrants.
- Express Entry & PNP draws are continuing. While IRCC confirmed that the applications for PR will continue and also indicated that there may be few delays.
- Though it postponed the Grandparents Immigration Program and Opening of the parents 2020, Immediate family members of Citizens & PR's are still allowed.
- It has also done few changes in Refugee Resettlement Programs, International Student Programs, Post-Graduation Work Permit , Temporary Workers Program etc. But still, as of priority, it is taking necessary measures.
Canadian Government is taking all possible measures to protect and support during these hard times like providing proper health care, advising not to take non essential travels, stopping the international borders, holding temporary immigration related issues etc.
Though there was a huge impact on Immigration, Canada didn't stop in applying for Candian's Visas. There were Express Entry and PNP Draws during this Pandemic.
So far, the government is taking off its restrictions on International Students, Business Men, Temporary Workers, etc.
