MPNP Invites 123 Candidates
Manitoba invited 123 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The invited candidates had profiles Manitoba’s Expression of Interest pool, and came from three Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program MPNP streams. Of these candidates, 14 had a valid Express Entry profile.
The LAAs issued in this invitation round were distributed as follows:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 94
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 14
- International Education Stream: 15
The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the Express Entry pool. Those who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 CRS points and are effectively guaranteed an invitation to apply from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada IRCC.
An EOI is an online profile that is ranked out of a score of 1,000. Points are awarded for a candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Category allows the MPNP to select and nominate skilled foreign workers who can help support Manitoba’s labour market.
Candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements. They do not need to be in Manitoba at the time of application in order to be eligible.
Manitoba graduates with certain in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream.
This stream includes three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.
The MPNP has issued 1,931 LAAs so far this year. This is Manitoba’s 89th draw since the program began in April 2014.
